Stuff about evolution
Evolution is the process by which different kinds of organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of Earth. This means that evolution is how living things changed over time, becoming what they are today (Which could mean extinct). Organisms can evolve in different ways, but a large one is natural selection.
This is a main form of evolution. During natural selection, a creature gains a new trait that others of its species don't regularly have. This can be through mutation, which it often is. This creature, due to its new trait, can more easily survive in this environment. Since this creature can more easily survive, this also means that they can reproduce, giving their offspring this trait and thus expanding the amount of creatures of that species with that trait.
Charles Darwin is, in my opinion, as well as in the opinions of many others, one of the most important scientists in history. He is best known for his contributions towards evolution. His thought of evolution, new in his time, eventually became widely accepted by the biology community as the truth for how organisms came to adapt and change over long periods of time.
