I am Andrew Jay. I am an 8th grader at Grapevine Middle School. I am going to Collegiate Academy for high school. Going to collegiate would accelerate my college life (which would save me money) and then I could get a good job faster and make more money. The only downside to Collegiate is the fact that there is no sports (especially baseball). I have played baseball my whole life. I have made many friends and learned many skills that can be applied to real life. One of my best friends that don’t go to GMS I met through baseball. Baseball has been and still is an escape from my normal life and the stress that comes with it.
Food is so important in my life. Not just because you need food to function properly as a human, but because it creates this atmosphere to come together with people of all walks of life. I believe that great food brings people together. Maybe that is why there is food at most parties and get togethers. My Family has some really good cooks. For instance, my grandfather makes the fish. The way he makes it and puts love and care into it makes it so good! Another example is my Great Grandmother, My mom says she makes the best seafood gumbo, the sad thing is we can't replicate it exactly. Our family still uses a lot of her recipes to this day. Those are just a couple of examples of amazing cooks in our family.
When I grow up I probably want to be an engineer even though ALL of my teachers say I should be a lawyer. I am indicisive on what college I want to go to. I have narrowed my decision to LSU and A&M. I know I want a few things in the college that I attend. These things include: Family nearby, low cost/In-state tuition, Engineering, and Big Campus.
